BHS
Youth and Adolescent Treatment Services

BHS provides outpatient substance abuse treatment and mental health services to adolescents ages 12 to 18. Adolescent treatment services include assessment, treatment planning, alcohol and other drug education, group, individual and family counseling, and social/recreational activities. Program activities are provided after school hours and on Saturdays. The adolescent substance abuse treatment services are geared toward both adolescents identified as high risk for substance abuse and adolescents who have already developed patterns of abuse or addiction. Mental health services are provided for adolescents with co-occurring substance abuse and for adolescents eligible for Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) under the California Medi-Cal program.

Early Youth Intervention

BHS specializes in early intervention, treatment, and recovery support services tailored to the needs of young individuals navigating substance use concerns. Our early intervention initiatives focus on reaching youth who may not meet the formal diagnostic criteria for substance use disorder but exhibit risk factors or have experimented with substances, potentially leading to negative behaviors. Our treatment programs cater to youth (12-17), extending up to young adults (18-20) as deemed clinically appropriate, addressing escalating alcohol and/or drug use that indicates substance abuse or dependence. Additionally, our recovery support services assist abstaining youth or those transitioning from treatment, offering crucial support to prevent relapse. All our services and treatment options are personalized, drawing from comprehensive evaluations and assessments of each patient's substance use history and unique needs. .
