Program Description
BHS/Patterns offers gender specific treatment services to women and women with dependent children in a safe and structured residential environment. Women with dependent children (up to age 10) can enter into the program as a family unit. Treatment starts at the initial assessment when participants and their counselor identify treatment needs and select their individualized course of treatment. Participants receive individual counseling and specialty groups that include trauma, parenting, domestic violence, health and wellness, 12-step, relapse prevention, empowerment, family and job preparedness.
BHS/Patterns works with many social service and correctional agencies assisting participants to address legal issues and allowing families to reunite while a women is in treatment. Individuals with co-occurring disorders, such as mental health and physical health, are also supported to identify and address related issues that may lead to relapse.
Through a network of community partners, individuals are supported to obtain employment, or enroll in school or vocational classes prior to discharge. Housing is also addressed for participants in need of stable living arrangements after treatment.
Recovery is a life-long process which is oftentimes successful when beginning in a safe and supportive environment. While receiving treatment at BHS/Patterns, women develop a sense of responsibility for themselves, their children and families while preparing for a successful transition to a clean and sober lifestyle in the community.
