TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR HEALTH: : Is a series of four 1-1/2 hour classes offered at senior centers, retirement housing facilities, churches, nutrition sites and other locations where older adults gather. The series is designed to impart information and skills to reduce the risk of alcohol and medication-related problems in adults 55+ throughout the South Bay and Westside areas of Los Angeles County. The four sessions are:
* Medicines: Friend or Foe: The dangers of medicine misuse
* Using Medicines Wisely: Critical drug information and reading labels
* Take Charge of Your Medicines: Preventing common errors
* Talking To Your Doctor: Making the most of limited time
BE HEALTH WISE: Once a site has completed the TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR HEALTH series, they are eligible to receive additional classes on health promotion topics of interest to older adults such as:
* Memory Enhancement
* Getting a Good Night's Sleep
* Dealing with Stress
* Osteoporosis
* Self Massage

MEP HEALTH WISE NEWSLETTER
Offered free to participants in our Take Charge of Your Health series, this quarterly newsletter offers important information on medicines and health topics of interest to older readers. Also available by annual subscription.
PASSPORT TO GOOD HEALTH
A pocket-sized personal health and medicine record, useful at doctor's offices, pharmacies and in case of emergency. Available in English or Spanish (Pasaporte a la Buena Salud). Available free to Take Charge of Your Health participants or through individual or bulk sales.
