Community Assessment Services Center (CASC)
The Community Assessment Services Centers (CASC) are responsible for providing substance abuse and mental health assessments and referrals for DPSS' General Relief, CalWORKs Recipients, Proposition 36, and walk-in participants.
Services include:
*Initial screening: in person and by phone
* Provision of referrals to substance abuse and mental health
providers
* Maintenance of collaborative linkages with public or private and
other social, health, legal & vocational service providers
*Specialized HIV/AIDS services to include assessment, referral,
placement and follow-up
* The scheduling and coordinating of on-site supportive services
orientations to CalWORKs applicants at DPSS and GAIN regional offices
*Provision of ancillary referrals to individuals with substance
abuse and/or mental health problems, to include but not limited to
12-Step programs, support groups, vocational, public social services,
emergency housing, health, legal and food.
