The BHS Family of Substance Abuse Treatment Services

Our Mission

The mission of BHS is to transform lives by offering hope and opportunities for recovery, wellness and independence

Our Vision

We envision a comprehensive system of human services available and affordable to all through our model programs and a coalition of community partners

Our Values

  • Compassion
  • Diversity
  • Dedication
  • Integrity

Since 1973, Behavioral Health Services, Inc. has prided itself on providing a continuum of substance abuse treatment services. Each of our programs is based on the philosophy that recovery from addiction is a life-long process. Our services are based on abstinence, 12-step involvement, family participation and relapse prevention. BHS provides effective, innovative treatment services while ensuring cost containment and quality care for both clients and referring agents.

Services are available at locations throughout Los Angeles County and convenient to parts of Orange and San Bernardino counties. Services are available in English and Spanish.

BHS Philosophy

Recovery is the responsibility of the chemically dependent person. The treatment offered presents culturally relevant tools for maintaining and living a satisfying and productive life through education, individual and group counseling, employment skills training, vocational rehabilitation, supportive leisure activities and 12-step program participation.

As social beings, we recognize the effects of chemical dependence on the family and significant others of the chemically dependent individual. We recognize that the involvement of the family or significant other can frequently improve the chemically dependent person's success in treatment.

Fee Information

No one is denied services for inability to pay. Rules for acceptance and participation in the programs are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, or handicap.

Most insurance plans and Medi-Cal are accepted. Fees are based on a sliding scale.

Funding

Our services are funded by contracts with the County of Los Angeles Alcohol and Drug Program Administration, Office of AIDS Programs and Policy, Area Agency on Aging, and the County of Orange.

Grants and Donations are accepted from Corporate and Private Contributors.
